About ICHS

Our Mission

The Indiana Coalition for Human Services (ICHS) is a nonpartisan coalition of advocacy and human service organizations that engages, educates and mobilizes decision-makers, its stakeholders and the public on fact-based, equitable public policies resulting in quality outcomes for all Hoosiers.

Our Vision

Collectively, we are Indiana’s trusted expert on fact-based, equitable public policies that empower Hoosiers striving to reach their full potential.

Our Work

ICHS representatives monitor and engage in statewide human service policy every day. In recent years, our advocacy at the Indiana Statehouse has sparked critical policy discussions, contributed to legislative wins that uplift working and vulnerable Hoosiers, and helped prevent or mitigate proposals that would negatively impact communities across the state.

We have actively engaged in policy areas such as:

  • Preventing predatory lending expansions

  • Affordable housing

  • Transportation

  • Health care access

  • Childcare quality and access

  • Early childhood education

  • Workforce development

  • Mental and behavioral health services

  • Long‑term services and supports for older adults and people with disabilities

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and food access

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Our Members

ICHS keeps members informed with regular policy updates and gathers essential insights on local needs, advocacy opportunities, and emerging priorities. Our members are our lifeline—each organization contributes time, expertise, and perspective to advance our shared mission.

We invite you to take full advantage of ICHS membership by engaging in our programs, events, and collective advocacy efforts.
